About Fuzhou

Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province in southeastern China, is a historic cultural city of more than 2,200 years, also known as "Rongcheng" (Banyan City) and famed as a city of hot springs. Situated on the lower reaches of the Min River and facing the Taiwan Strait, Fuzhou is a core city of the West Coast Economic Zone of the Taiwan Strait and an important center for the digital economy, marine economy, intelligent manufacturing and equipment industry. The city hosts Fuzhou University, Fujian Normal University and numerous research institutes, and serves as the permanent host city of the Digital China Summit.

Visitors to Fuzhou can explore Sanfang Qixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys), one of the best preserved historical districts of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China; climb Gushan Mountain to see Yongquan Temple; stroll around West Lake Park and the Min River waterfront; and enjoy the city's natural hot springs. Fujian cuisine is one of China's eight great culinary traditions, with signature dishes such as Buddha Jumps Over the Wall (Fotiaoqiang), Fuzhou fish balls, and oyster cake; local jasmine tea is also renowned.

Fuzhou is well served by air and rail. Fuzhou Changle International Airport (FOC) links the city with major domestic and regional destinations, while the Fuzhou and Fuzhou South railway stations connect it with the Beijing-Fuzhou and Hangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail networks, making travel to and from the city highly convenient.
